Karlkurla Art and Culture is recognised as an active, vibrant art centre known for generating high quality, accessible community driven arts and cultural development programs. We are responsive to community needs and interests which results in the production of Wongutha art, culture and music events for the community of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
Our art is centred on story-telling, and is used to communicate knowledge of the land, events and beliefs. Our symbols tell of stories of cultural significance and it educates people on how to use the land and survive in it. Creation stories are handed down through paintings, song and dance
Karlkurla Art and Culture continues to keep our culture alive. Our art is a visual expression that communicates our beliefs and preserves our culture, heritage, beliefs and history. We develop new, unique art, culture and music projects that create opportunities for community dialogue and shared cultural experiences. We work collaboratively, reflect art and cultural diversity within our cultural footprint, and create artistic growth, positive change and improved health and well-being.
